Eagles vs Saints Live

After losing to the Saints in New Orleans by a final score of 48 to 7 in Week 11, the Philadelphia Eagles are eager to prove they’re better than that team that got blown out. It won’t be easy for the reigning Super Bowl champions and that’s an understatement. This Saints game is clearly their toughest test yet. No team has ever defeated Sean Payton and Drew Brees at the Superdome in the playoffs.

But if there ever were a team capable of doing it, it just might be this Eagles squad. They’ve defied the odds time and time again. After all, underdogs are hungry dogs, and hungry dogs run faster. If you believe in karma, you might feel like the Saints have something coming for them. They called the Eagles “fraudulents.” They made some Eagles player feel like they were running up the score in Week 11. Philadelphia shouldn’t need extra motivation for this game but the Saints have given it to them.

In all likelihood, the Eagles will need to put forth an incredible effort to win this game. Doug Pederson and Nick Foles especially need to come up huge in this spot. We’ll soon see if the team is up to the challenge.

They already routed Philadelphia this season 48-7. The game is in the Superdome, among the NFL’s most inhospitable venues for visitors. And Saints quarterback Drew Brees is playing the best football of his illustrious career, leading the league in passer rating (115.7) and setting a single-season NFL record for completion percentage (74.4).

Eagles vs Saints Live

After watching the Philadelphia Eagles escape Chicago with a white-knuckle victory, the New Orleans Saints will attempt to do what the Bears could not and beat the reigning Super Bowl champs.

Philadelphia scraped its way into the postseason to try and defend its Super Bowl title and survived a nail-biter in Chicago on Sunday, edging the Bears 16-15 as Cody Parkey’s 43-yard game-winning kick for the NFC North champs hit both the left upright and the crossbar — after Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester got a piece of it at the line of scrimmage — before harmlessly falling in the end zone in the closing seconds.

The reward for the Eagles was a trip to the Big Easy, where it will be anything but for Philadelphia against the conference’s No. 1 seed. New Orleans repeated as NFC South champions, going 13-3 for its best mark since also posting 13 wins in 2011, and has unfinished business from last year’s postseason after its stunning loss to Minnesota on the final play of last year’s 29-24 loss in the divisional round.

This is the second time this season the Eagles are playing in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, and the first game was not one they will recall fondly. The Saints administered a 48-7 beatdown in Week 11, the largest loss ever absorbed by a defending Super Bowl champion.

New Orleans rolled up 546 yards of total offense as Drew Brees threw for 363 yards and four touchdowns. Mark Ingram and Alvin Kamara combined for 174 rushing yards while rookie wide receiver Tre’Quan Smith stole the show with 10 catches for 157 yards and a touchdown after entering the game with 12 catches for 214 yards and three TDs.

Patriots vs Chargers Live

After figuring out the blueprint for stopping Lamar Jackson, the Los Angeles Chargers advanced past the wild card round of the playoffs and will now travel to face a much different quarterback and team in Tom Brady and the New England Patriots. They are set to meet at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro on Sunday, beginning at 1:05 p.m. ET

Los Angeles really dominated the Ravens on defense, to the point where there was open discussion about benching Jackson in favor of Joe Flacco. But the Chargers did fade late, with the Ravens pushing back to make it a close game. They still came out on top, even with the Baltimore defense generally doing a great job of limiting them.

The Patriots finished the regular season at 11-5, first place in the NFC East. They did have some concerning losses, falling to all of the Jaguars, Lions, Titans, Dolphins and Steelers, none of whom made the playoffs. They did finish the season on a strong note, dominating the Bills and Jets to secure the first-round bye.

The Chargers have officially activated tight end Hunter Henry off of injured reserve and onto the 53-man roster. And in even better news: he was a full participant in practice this week. The Patriots are probably the healthiest team remaining in the playoffs. The Chargers are down to starters, but New England has few concerns.

Tom Brady had a good season, but one that definitely had its ups and downs. He posted his lowest quarterback rating since 2014, and threw the most interceptions he’s thrown in a season since 2013. But he did have 4,355 yards and 29 touchdowns. He’ll be assisted by Sony Michel, who had a productive year of running with 209 carries for 931 yards and six touchdowns, a per-carry average of 4.5 yards.

Patriots vs Chargers Live

ith every passing weekend in January, football teams nationwide face either the bitter sting of a lost championship or the sweetness of a Super Bowl dream that’s still alive. In a battle of the coasts, the Los Angeles Chargers and the New England Patriots will take to the gridiron, fighting for a victory that puts them one step closer to gaining a Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The Chargers played the previous week during the wildcard games and claimed victory over the Baltimore Ravens, giving them the ability to advance to the next round. As the champions of their division, the AFC East, the Patriots had a bye week for the first round of playoffs, making the Divisional Championship round the first time they’ll play.

The Pats have done a whole lot of winning since then and the Chargers not quite as much, but none of that really matters when the 2018 versions of these squads take the field for the right to advance to the AFC title game. Fittingly, however, which of them advances will likely come down to the play of the two quarterbacks, which makes this game seem not so different after all.

The Chargers completely shut down the Baltimore run game despite playing almost the entire game with seven defensive backs on the field. They had seven DBs out there for 58 snaps, blasting the previous single-game high for any team in any game this season (18), and exceeding the total number of snaps (50) on which they themselves had used the formation during the regular season. We could see the Chargers break out the look again against the Patriots on Sunday.

Dallas Cowboys vs Los Angeles Rams

Dallas Cowboys vs Los Angeles Rams: The Cowboys, after holding off the Seahawks in the NFL wild-card round, will try to beat another NFC West team in the divisional playoffs. The NFC East champions last played the Rams at home in October of 2017, falling just short in a 35-30 shootout.

For Dallas, the Los Angeles area is a home away from home. The Cowboys’ training camp site in Oxnard, Calif., is about an hour away from where they will play Saturday night. There should be plenty of support for America’s Team in the Coliseum.

While the Rams’ weak run defense will face a big test from red-hot Ezekiel Elliott, the Cowboys’ strong front seven will try to contain Todd Gurley, who’s expected to return to 100 percent from his knee injury. Dak Prescott and Jared Goff also will duel to seek the defining third-year moment of their promising careers.

There is plenty of star power and drama made for Hollywood, down to Rams defensive coordinator Wade Phillips trying to stop the team he used to coach. As the Cowboys’ Jason Garrett coaches more for vindication, the Rams’ Sean McVay will try to back his offensive genius label with his first playoff win after going one-and-done last year.

Vinnie Iyer: The Cowboys ran the ball at an elite level against the Seahawks. The Rams were ranked No. 23 against the run in the regular season in terms of yards allowed per game (122.3) and last in yards allowed per carry (5.1) game.

Dallas’ offensive line will work to keep the Rams’ Aaron Donald out of the backfield. The key for Prescott will be hitting big pass plays off play-action to Amari Cooper. Rookie Michael Gallup will be an X-factor in one-on-one matchups.

where the team has held its training camp for much of the last 20 years. There’s a strong chance the Rams will feel like the away team in their own stadium, even in a playoff game.

The Dallas Cowboys are standing in the way of the Rams’ Super Bowl run. Can Los Angeles handle the heat at home? The Los Angeles Rams are hosting the Dallas Cowboys in the divisional round of the playoffs this Saturday afternoon.

Rams vs Cowboys

Rams vs Cowboys: With just eight teams remaining in the 2019 NFL Playoffs, the Divisional schedule features matchups that pit some of the league’s hottest teams against each other. The Dallas Cowboys are 8-1 straight up and 6-2-1 against the spread over their last nine games. The Cowboys will try to keep their hot streak going with a big upset win over the Los Angeles Rams this Saturday night.

Los Angeles looked largely out-of-sync in a pair of back-to-back December losses to the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles that knocked the Rams out of the running for the top spot in the NFC.

The Rams used a pair of tune-up games against the Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco 49ers to end the season on a 2-0 SU and ATS high note and to get the offense back on track in the process. Despite their dominant 13-3 SU campaign this season the Rams went just 7-7-2 ATS.

Saturday night’s total is set at 49.5 points at online sports betting sites. The OVER is 5-2 in Los Angeles’ last seven games at home.

On paper, the Rams may be the most talented team in the NFL. Los Angeles has the potential to win the Super Bowl if it plays its best football of the season in the playoffs. But if the Rams come out flat and don’t put together a full four-quarter effort, they could face a rude awakening against a team as hot as the Cowboys this Saturday.

The Cowboys have won eight of their last nine, while the Rams went 13-3 this season with a prolific offense and a disruptive defense led by Aaron Donald. Los Angeles is a seven-point favorite, unchanged from the opening line, with the total at 49.5 in the latest Cowboys vs. Rams odds.

Indianapolis Colts vs Kansas City Chiefs

Indianapolis Colts vs Kansas City Chiefs: The Divisional Round of the 2019 NFL Playoffs will begin on Saturday when the Kansas City Chiefs host the Indianapolis Colts. The Chiefs had Wild Card weekend off after earning the top seed in the AFC—their first No. 1 finish since 1995—after a strong 12-4 campaign, while the No. 6 Colts were the last team in thanks to their victory over the Tennessee Titans in the Week 17 finale.

The Indianapolis Colts delivered further warning signs of imminent NFL dominance as they purred to a 21-7 Wild Card victory over the Houston Texans. Needless to suggest a Colts team capable of reviving a 1-5 start to the campaign to finish 10-6 present a fierce challenge this weekend. Frank Reich’s team heads to the Divisional Round where they will face the AFC’s top seed, the Kansas City Chiefs, and their high-powered offense. The Colts will be looking to pull off another upset.

Tight end Travis Kelce undoubtedly warrants a mention in every team meeting prior to a clash with the Chiefs. Perhaps more so than ever on this occasion. While it may be designed to help the Colts contain Tyreek Hill, zone coverage runs the risk of affording Kelce the space to excel underneath as he has done so often this season. The sooner Kelce’s presence demands defensive adjustments, the greater the threat Hill begins to pose.

The Colts’ defense looked awfully impressive against the Texans this past weekend, but slowing down Patrick Mahomes and Co. is an entirely different challenge. Odds are that the Chiefs will put up at least 30 points, as they did in 12 of 16 games this season. Will Andrew Luck and the Colts be able to keep up? Chiefs 35, Colts 27.

Still, it’s hard to see a scenario in which Indy’s defense, which has been respectable this year and ranked in the top-10 for points allowed, can completely shut down the Kansas City offense the same way it did to Houston’s. Another key battle in this contest will be whether or not the Chiefs can generate pressure against star quarterback Andrew Luck.

Considering that the Indianapolis Colts had to sneak into the 2019 NFL Playoffs on the last day of the season, while the Kansas City Chiefs have been one of the NFL’s best from start to finish, you’d think that Saturday’s AFC Divisional Round game between the Nos. 1 and 6 seeds might be one-sided. However,

Indianapolis is red-hot and sports books are expecting a game. Kansas City is favored by 5.5, with the total at 57 in the latest Chiefs vs. Colts odds. Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Colts veteran signal caller Andrew Luck have been two of the best at their position, so expect plenty of fireworks in the first game of the NFL Divisional schedule at 4:35 p.m. ET.

The advanced computer model simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, and those who have followed it have seen massive returns. SportsLine’s proprietary computer model went 176-80 last season and beat over 95 percent of CBS Office Pool players in 2016 and ’17.

It also performed better than 98 percent of experts tracked by during that span. Additionally, it went 48-34 on A-rated picks against the spread last season, and $100 bettors who followed it the past two seasons are up nearly $4,000.

The model has continued to nail its top-rated picks in 2018-19, entering the divisional round on a blistering 16-6 run. For the season, it is now 30-15 on all top-rated picks, extending its two-year run to a strong 78-49.

This year, however, the Chiefs not only have home-field advantage, but also a first-round bye. Normally this would be reassuring, but two years ago the Chiefs hosted the Pittsburgh Steelers at Arrowhead after a first-round bye and came up short in a game where the Steelers failed to score a single touchdown.

Chiefs Kingdom is gearing up for the team’s first playoff game of the season. The Chiefs play the Indianapolis Colts in the divisional round Saturday afternoon.

The Chiefs are the number one seeded team in the AFC for the playoffs. That seed earned the team a first round bye and home field advantage through the playoffs. The Colts are the sixth seeded team. They beat the Houston Texans last week to advance to Saturday’s game.

If you’re going to the game, here’s what you need to know: the game kicks off: 3:35 p.m. The parking lots open at 10:30 a.m. Parking is $40 in advance and $60 at the gate, cash only. The Chiefs encourage fans to buy parking passes in advance online.

How fresh will the Blues be entering this contest? Chelsea took on Tottenham in the EFL Cup semifinals on Tuesday with many of the important players playing, like Eden Hazard and N’golo Kante. After a busy time around the holidays, will this be the time where we start seeing some tired legs for the Blues?

All this team needs to have on its mind right now is getting points. Little by little, they’ll be saved as long as they can win a handful of remaining games and earn some draws along the way. This is an unlikely place to get a point, but doing so would give them tremendous momentum.

On the Brighton vs Liverpool game, Owen said: “Liverpool have won all three previous Premier League games between the sides by an aggregate score of 10-1 although I don’t think the Reds will run away with the game at the Amex.

Liverpool’s 21-match unbeaten run came to an end at the Etihad last Thursday, but they lost little in defeat and matched the champions toe-for-toe in an epic Premier League game between two of the best sides in Europe.

Commenting on the West Ham vs Arsenal game, Owen said: “Arsenal are unbeaten in their last 11 away games against West Ham in all competitions, but if there is to be a winner at the London Stadium I feel it will be the hosts, as I still have my reservations about the Gunners defensive capabilities.
